Here are some alternatives in a thin neoprene shorty wetsuit. For swimming mobility, the "short john" will give you lots of arm flexibility. That suit has something called Metal-Light which makes up for the ultra thin neoprene in warmth. The other two are thicker, also great suits, so depending on the temperature of the pool or ocean, they are options, as well.

I need advice regarding what type of gear my 14 year old will need to sail on th ejr high school team at Lake Forest High school on Lake Michigan, just north of Chicago for September until November 1. He has life jacket, sailing boots and rash gurads. I expect he will need a wet suit and gloves...
Can you advise if he is better off with a shorty or a full suit. If he sails in March through May, he will need a dry suit as well.
For now , I am interested in what type of wet suit. he will be sailing in a 420 and maybe a laser.
He is 125 lid and 5 ft 3 inches
