ABOUT INTERCHANGEABLE PRESCRIPTION LENSES FROM SEAVENGER.COM

We answered the need early-on for prescription mask lenses. A pioneer innovator in supplying prescription diving mask lenses, Seavenger.com offers a range of interchangeable lenses in clear, tinted and optical prescription choices including bi-focal diopters. These high-end lenses from manufacturers such as IST and Tilos can be fitted to a variety of different mask styles and facial profiles, including children. Clear lenses are made from super-transparent glass, and offer stunning panoramic underwater viewing, as well as gauge reader bifocal diopters available on select masks. Prescription lenses range from -1.0 to -8.0 for divers who are near-sighted, and +1.0 and 4.0 for those who are far-sighted. A selection of tinted lenses offer sharp clear vision and drastically reduced glare both on the surface, and underwater. You can order prescription optical lenses for most l twin-lens masks and select goggles.

ABOUT THIS MASK

Seavenger presents for the first time: Gauge Reader Bifocals! Because of tremendous demand, we now offer bifocals in an extremely high quality mask, the Hawk Eyes from Tilos. The larger, two-window styling of this mask is designed to increase downward vision. It’s combined field of vision was among the best as tested by Scuba Diving Magazine. Their testers found the Hawk Eyes to be comfortable with a soft, pliable silicone skirt. The Hawk Eyes is easy to clear and equalize, and Scuba Diving testers really liked the E-Band strap – a patented device that sets the adjustment features of the strap squarely in the back of your head, where it rests on a comfortable, hard-plastic band. Hawk Eyes – for those of you who have been looking for a great all-purpose, all-face mask that’s available in bifocals – the search is over. Available in multi-hued sporty Red, Black, Clear Blue, Pink, Blue and Yellow.

Question 1. I use +2.0 standard reading glasses, would this product be recommended by you for a dive mask..?
2. Do you have a better recommendation..?
3. If this doesn't work for me can i return for a refund..?
4. The cost of this mask and +2.0 lenses = $65..?
5. What are the reviews on this product with the lenses..?
thanks..........

Answer The Hawk Eyes by Tilos is an excellent dive mask, and we recommend it highly. Available are +1.75 and + 2.25, and, factoring in water magnification, we always recommend the lower prescription, in this case 1.75 which will be easier on your eyes. Yes, you can return for exchange or refund for a $10 restocking fee. The cost of the mask is $65 including lenses. The following is a link to an independent, ScubaLab review of Hawk Eyes:
http://www.scubadiving.com/gear/masks/scubalab-mask-tests-2011-tilos-hawk-eyes

Question I am confused as to which of the numbers I should put in. My presciption is OD: +1.75-0.50 X 110 and
OS: +2.50-0.75 X 065 +2.25
I want the bifocals and understand the top half is clear, but which of these numbers do I put in for the bottom? Thanks

Answer The OD, or right side is +1.75. The OS or left side is +2.50. However, we do not carry +2.50 in this mask, only +2.25 and 2.75. In this case, we recommend going down in strength, to the +2.25 because it is better to put less strain on your eyes than more, and also there is a magnification factor underwater to consider.

Question What's ypour best snorkling and scuba complete bifocal mask with purge system? What would it cost? I have very bad stigmatisn.
Answer Unfortunately, none of our bifocal masks come with a purge system, nor do our bifocals have anything more than the Plus strength readers at the bottom, with clear lenses on top. You should check the lens calculator under the product description to see if our prescription lenses can accommodate your stigmatism:

Question This item only has a field to order the "ADD" for the 'bifocal.' How does one order the Rx for the top portion of the lens for each eye of the Hawk Eye model when buying online from Seavenger?
Answer The Hawk Eyes is available only with the lower portion prescription lens reader. The top portion is clear.

Question Does anyone make a reader mask that has a purge valves to vent out water ?
Answer The Hawk Eyes is the only bifocal mask we carry, and it does not have purge valves to vent out water -- we are not sure who makes a mask like you describe.
